Before pickup

Boat transport preparation checklist

Good preparation protects the boat, reduces delays, and helps verify readiness for highway travel.

01

Confirm exact dimensions

Measure loaded height from the ground, total beam, length, and approximate weight. Include towers, antennas, radar, outboards, and trailer.

02

Secure loose equipment

Remove or secure covers, cushions, electronics, canvas, poles, anchors, lines, and anything that could shift or catch wind.

03

Reduce the travel profile

Lower or remove folding towers, antennas, outriggers, Bimini frames, masts, and accessories when permitted.

04

Inspect the trailer

Check tires, spare, bearings, brakes, lights, coupler, jack, chains, winch, straps, frame, axles, bunks, rollers, and registration.

05

Prepare access

Provide firm truck access and turning room. Coordinate marina, crane, forklift, or boatyard appointments.

06

Document condition

Walk around the boat at pickup, note condition, keep keys available, and provide reliable contacts.
